CUSG STRATEGIC ADVISORY SOLUTIONS LLC,
2021 YEAR IN REVIEW
In 2021, CUSG Strategic Advisory Solutions took an agile approach and experienced
continued success with scalable digital consulting tools. The division was structurally built
for organizational growth as budgeted while remaining ready to enact contingency plans
as needed. Although our projected income growth slowed, the division never stopped
growing. Even throughout the pandemic, Strategic Advisory Solutions never saw a decrease
in revenue.
The Strategic Advisors were back on site with many credit unions conducting strategic
planning sessions, governance projects, and CEO reviews. Fifty-one credit unions completed
the CEO performance review process. Over 30 credit unions conducted strategic planning
and governance sessions, as well. Leadership consulting revenue rebounded in 2021, with
clients booking all sessions in a virtual or hybrid capacity.
Compliance consulting services saw an increase in engagements focused on driving consulting

wrapped around the top-of-the-line compliance products, AffirmX , ComplySight , and
CU Vendor Management, offered through CU Risk Intelligence.
CU Risk Intelligence now supports 29 Leagues and Associations. These represent 45
states and provide solutions to over 650 credit unions. Overall, expectations for 2021 were

exceeded. This is mostly attributed to the strong growth of the AffirmX platform, which
underwent a redesign of the complaint module and enhancements to the risk assessments.
The team continues to provide increased support to all the compliance platforms to ensure
credit unions have the best experience possible.
Finally, 2021 brought new partnerships with industry organizations. CU Pride, the LGBTQ+
network for credit unions, partnered with CUSG Strategic Advisory Solutions to deliver
leadership content for members across the country. Cooperative Clout is a solution to
measure a credit union’s competitive advantage, validate the fulfillment of their cooperative
mission, and build a roadmap for long-term prosperity. CUSG Strategic Advisory Solutions
also partnered with PayQwick to equip credit unions with the technology, compliance,
and product capabilities needed to provide reliable treasury and payment solutions for
cannabis-related businesses without the additional costs and risks of serving the industry.
Looking ahead in 2022, Strategic Advisory Solutions is focused on building strength in the
market for core service offerings. In addition, we will broaden the reach of our strategic
consulting through partnerships and elevate the product-led consulting approach by
delivering strategic expertise surrounding our CU Risk Intelligence products. We are also
prioritizing investment opportunities that provide a more balanced product portfolio in
proficiency and complementary solutions and positioning the division for growth through
actual product sales. 37
